Most dog owners have come home to a crime scene of plush and stuffing. Fido tells you he's very sorry and would also like another toy! You want to make your furbaby happy but also want to keep him from destroying another one of his beloved toys. I have a very cute, but destructive little chihuahua, who I have had these moments with several times. So here are the toys I have found that keep my pampered pooch happy and my house clean! (Bonus picture of my dog!).

This one is one of the first lines of toys that my dog has not completely obliterated on day one! He has had the same Puppy Kong for 3 years (since he was a pup!) it is also extremely versatile and typically shred proof! The red is the classic and the black is the tough. They also have one for puppies that are a little softer so they don't damage their still developing gums and teeth. The one he has is actually the binky from the puppy line, personally I like this one for play time because you can play tug of war a bit better than with a regular Kong and it still functions the same.
This one is a great challenge for a busy dog! My dog is notorious for figuring out puzzle toys on day one. We even got one of those treat boards where he had to slide the cup and pull the lever and he figured them out on day one! This one however took him weeks to figure out how to get anything out! Even then he still takes a few days to get the treat out! On top of this The toy is also a great fetch toy that is very durable and shows no signs of breaking any time soon!
This one honestly didn't last as long as the other ones on the list but it definitely deserves a mention. All the seams on this are doubled and there is a thick layer of firehose under the fleece. The toy has a decent design but once he popped enough seams it was done for. It was overall better than the average stuffed toy but ended up lasting around a month so it was worth it but its not indestructible by any means.
My dog's favorite toy is a soda bottle but he's a chewer and I don't like to give him real ones because I worry it could cause an obstruction. After many tries I found a toy that he has not only not broken but also not ignored completely like the toys I tried before. You can tell it isn't quite as satisfying as a real bottle but it is much safer.
On par with his usual shenanigans, he somehow managed to break tennis balls which lead to this admittedly interesting find. He would eat the fur off the tennis ball (he's a strange dog) and once again I don't want that in his stomach and intestines. So I searched for a ball that had a completely smooth surface and found this company that has toys rated by toughness much like Kong. Unlike kong, these are also scented! The colors correspond to different scents and flavors which make it more enticing and it is tough with a smooth surface!
I hope you enjoyed reading about my dogs woes with toys and hope this helps a pet parent!
