10 Aldis Items That Are Better Than Name Brand Items

Aldis is the best grocery store to go to if you are on a budget or if you like saving money. They also have some really great unique products that are only available there. Not only that but some of their products are just plain better than the name brand. I want to preface this by saying I am not paid by Aldis I'm just a big fan.

Produce

Their produce is just simply fresher than everyone else's. I have never had fruit that I got home and there was a hidden rotting moldy piece of fruit. Their fruit is always fresh and full of flavor. Also all of their fruit is organically sourced which is just simply better for you and better tasting.

Artisan and specialty cheeses

If you are a cheese lover as much as I am you need to check out their cheeses. They have a few cheeses that I am going to mention because honestly I can't talk about just one!

Emporium Selection Cheeses: They have two flavors available in my store, one is a garden vegetable and sweet basil flavor. The other is roasted garlic, tomato, and basil flavor. Both cheeses have fantastic flavor! The cheese itself is flavored and there is like a layer of herbs and vegetables on the outside as well.

Happy Farms Chipotle Cheddar/ Habanero Jack cheese: This cheese is so very good, it is spicy so keep that in mind when you eat this. I prefer the cheddar, but cheddar is my favorite kind of cheese so its to be expected, the Habanero Jack is very good too!

Wine

I have discovered Aldi's Winking Owl Wine! I had heard good things about it and finally decided for $2.95 (price is different depending on where you live) it was worth the try. It was sweet, but not too sweet and has a nice flavor.

Chicken Salad

Little Salad Bar Chicken Salad: They have several different kinds which is really great. They have big pieces of chicken and whole pieces of the other ingredients as well like almonds and Cranberries. You can tell it's made with real ingredients because you can see them! Also it should be noted that I am a vegetarian and this opinion was written based on my family members review of the product.

Bread

Specially Selected Sourdough: Their sourdough bread is so flavorful! It is the best flavored sourdough in my opinion. Not to mention they have round and square shaped loves. Both shapes have the exact same flavor they are just shaped different, so no compromising for shape.

Chocolate Chip Brioche: This bread is so yummy! It makes the absolute best french toast! This is also good toasted or as is. It is soft and has a nice mild flavor with little chocolate chips peppered throughout it (mmm chocolate)! I will be posting a recipe for their french toast so be on the lookout for it.

Vegetarian Products

Earthgrown hot dogs: They have one of the best veggie dogs I have had and the most affordable. It tastes pretty close to the real deal and can be cooked on the grill unlike some competitor not dogs.

Earthgrown Burgers: Their veggie burgers honestly don't taste like meat but they all have good flavor regardless. My personal favorite is the Asian/Tai burger, it is amazing with a slice of pineapple on it! I gave this to my meat loving dad and he really enjoyed the flavor.

Belmont CheeseCake: Their cheesecake is typically $4 less than the average cheesecake and tastes just as good as any other store's cake! They come in sizes from 2 pieces all the way up to 8! They have berry, chocolate, and plain among a few others.

Bottom line they have some really amazing foods that either no one else has or no ones price can beat. Their food is always fresh and budget friendly. Keep an eye out for some Aldis recipes on here and on Youtube!
