CVS is one of the biggest pharmacy chains. They have tons of ways to save money, however like all stores you need to know how to play by their rules. So I have compiled this guide for how to get the most out of your couponing experience at CVS.

How the Sales Work:

First thing to know is that new sales start on Sunday, and last for a week. Next, unfortunately if there is a 2/$6 if you get one it will not be $3 and if its a BOGO you must get both. Lastly, on the paper they have a symbol to tell you if there is a coupon in the sunday paper for that sales item.

Extra Care Bucks:

Extra Care Bucks is basically cash and can be used on (almost) any in store item, but there are a lot of rules to know on how to get the most bang for your buck. These are typically on your receipt at the bottom in a border, but there are a number of ways to earn these . Always put your number in for the pharmacy, it adds up to get you extra care bucks. There is also a program called Extra Care Beauty Club, Where you earn $3 for every $30 dollars spent on beauty. You can also earn these on regular purchases, Items that are eligible have a sign in store and on the sales ad, they are also marked on the website. When spending these they must be spent all at once, meaning if you buy a $2 item with a $5 Extra Care Bucks you lose that remaining $3. Note these cannot be used on alcohol, postage, or prescriptions. Also some of these deals can be repeated and some cannot, it will state how many times you can earn the extra care bucks( typically 1, 2 or 4 times). Lastly these can expire typically after a month.

Extra Care Beauty Club

As I mentioned above you earn $3 for every $30 spent, but there are more ways to save in this program. You can get exclusive deals and new arrivals and a birthday gift. You can also get free samples of beauty products!

The App

Register your card online or on the app to earn 2% cash back. There are exclusive deals only available on the app. Get free shipping on purchases that are $35 or more once all discounts are taken off.

Coupon Rules

First thing to know, yes you can stack manufacturer and store coupons.

Which means if there is a BOGO and you have a manufacturer BOGO coupon you can get both free. The hierarchy so to speak is, manufacturer, CVS coupon, Extra Care Bucks, then CVS Percent off keep this in mind when couponing, it doesn't matter how they are given either. They won't let the balance go below zero, which means no they wont give you money for a negative balance.
