This cake is so very tasty! It has a slight vanilla flavor with a nice crispy buttery top. The pineapple gives it a nice sour twang, while the cherry adds a nice sweetness to the over all flavor of the cake. Not only does it taste good, but it's cheap and easy to make! All of the ingredients are either $1 or already in your pantry. This recipe makes a 9x13

Ingredients:
1 box of yellow cake mix
2 cans of crushed pineapple
2 cans of cherry pie filling
2(ish) sticks of butter.
Preheat the oven to 350
Pour the crushed pineapple and cherry pie filling into the bottom of the dish. Mix them evenly and cover the bottom of the dish using a spoon.
Then take the bag of mix from your box of cake mix and cut the corner off the bag to make distributing the mix easier. From there pour the mix across the top of the fruit as even as possible. You may have to use your hands or a spoon to even out the mix.
Then take your sticks of butter and cut it into pads or squares. Then take the squares and lay them across the top of your cake covering as much of the top as possible. Cold butter cuts more easily for this part. If you still have butter left over thats okay, I typically use about 1 and a half sticks.
Now place it in the oven until the crust is no longer doughy or wet (45-60 mins)
Then let cool and enjoy!
I hope you like this recipe as much as I do. If you need a little more guidance you can watch my youtube video for this tutorial. Now go out and save some money and eat some dessert!
