Toys are an important part of childhood development, but can be pricey. There are tons of ways to get toys for your kids from online shopping to yard sales, and so much more in between. I have taken the time to round up some unusual and creative ways to get toys on for your children on a budget.

Outlet stores/malls

Stores like Roses, and Burkes outlet that have outlet are a godsend for finding name brand items for less. There are also outlet malls like tanger outlets that have these little gems in. Typically outlet items are made mostly the same as regular name brand but, maybe the seam on the dolls dress is slightly off. Most items are identical and end up being over stock from big box stores. Bottom line if you are a parent and need some toys for your kiddo outlets are a great way to go.

Finding coupon codes

There are tons of sites to find coupon codes on but my personal favorite is Honey but you can also try Groupon and Retailmenot. A little warning though, some coupons may not work but it doesn't hurt to try. There are also code groups on facebook, here is mine. There are tons of others though.

Liquidation Bins

This one is an odd one, but is very much underappreciated. Basically These places look a lot like a Goodwill Outlet, and work similarly. For most, each day of the week all the items in the bin are a certain price, for mine the highest is 7 and lowest is fill a bag for $25 or a dollar an item, just whichever one is cheaper. These places are amazing, all the items are new in box or new without box. They typically come from store pulls, or amazon rejects. Typically they are just a slightly dented box or its out of season, which doesn't matter a ton with toys,

Yard Sales/Thrift Stores

if you are comfortable with used items, you can get gently used toys for a steal! This one is pretty self explanatory. If you are afraid of germs stick with plastic toys and wash them in the washing machine in a garment bag to disinfect.

Second hand apps

Apps like Mercari, and Ebay have taken the internet by storm, so it's no surprise that you can get most toys from these places. On the apps with shipping options, like Poshmark, mercari and now Facebook Marketplace are good if you aren't comfortable with meetups. If you feel okay about meetups then Offer up is a great option.

Free Stuff App

There is an app you can download that combs through Craigslist, Offerup, and Facebook for free items, all of these do require meeting.

Basically there are tons of creative ways to get toys without spending a ton of money. Hopefully this helps save you some money while spoiling your kiddos!
